Car wouldn't shift into 3rd gear tonight.
 

So I was coming out of a parking lot onto a 40mph road and I noticed the car wasn't shifting out of 2nd gear. I verfied this because I pulled the shifter down into 2nd and it did nothing. So I got onto the highway and it finally shifted into 3rd gear when I was revving about 3500 rpm. Anyone else ever have this happen to them? The car has 13,000 miles on it currently.

I had the same thing happen. Of course it was on a 4L60E behind a fairly stout LT1 in a 4300lb car...

Oh...it also had 235K miles on the tranny.

It might just be low on tranny fluid (check for leaks), but I would make it the dealer's problem post haste.

I had 10+ W-Body's w/ no tranny problems whatsoever.

I had numerous (4) issues with the 4L60E in my S-Blazer that required 4 rebuilds. I will never purchase a GM vehicle with the 4L60E.

4T60E / 4T65E I have complete confidence in. I'm thinking fluid or electronics with these things - agree w/ 06SS - dealer issue.

every once in awhile my tranny wont upshift as early as i like it with the tapshift....i dont know what its trying to do....silly computers :(
