exhaust 08 impala SS

Whats up guys? I'll be ordering my CAI in a few days either K&N or coldairinductions. Cant decide yet. After i do that exhaust is next. Probably do the thrush or 40 flows. Will the hogan DP5s fit the 08 impala for $99.95? if yes will it throw a code? I heard the DP7s will w/out the tune. Since im gonna try to wait for diablo:bang::bang: do you guys think doing the mufflers w the DP5s downpipe and losing the resonator will give me more than just sound w/ out the tune? Got the windows tinted a couple of weeks ago 20% all around.. what a difference car really needs it!

You'll be waiting a long time for DS. And yes you'll still be gaining some without being tuned. Are you getting new piping too or just mufflers? Don't know the differences in the downpipes, as long as it says it's for the V8 you're fine. It's hit or miss with throwing a code. I would just go ahead and assume it will.

You can use HPtuners on the 08s though, or no?

Welcome to the board. All your questions can be found by doing a search.

As for a CAI, I would get the K&N. I have used both and tested both, and IMHO the K&N is the way to go. As for exhaust, I would not get the Flowmasters, because they restrict air flow. I would either get the cat/back for the 06/07 Impala, same frame, just another year or get custom. On the downpipe, get the 409 Stainless Steel. Do not opt for alumium. Also, for tuning look at HP Tuners, Trifecta or Vector Motorsports.

I thought you preferred the one from CAI, Taz?
