Default DOD on a 3800? WTF?

Hi,

I'm posting here because since I'm turbo, it cost alot in gas. I've try to shut the front bank cylinder with my tuner and the car run great. No jerking!!! So today, I've put on each injector (front bank) a small relay. When I flip the switch, the car runs on 3 cylinders. With the tuner, cruising at 35mph 2000rpm, I've notice that my PW are 80% smaller!!!!! On idle, 68%!!!! That looks a good way to save fuel, by running on 3 cylinders when cruising and Idling.

What do you guys think? Any possible downside? I'll try to do a real test, not base on PW to see If I actually see a fuel economy in everyday driving!

How about he doesn't mod his car in such a way that he can no longer afford the gas for it.

Wow i think your idea might work i mean who knows unless you try it but im saying wow at all the *** holes @ clubgp on your thread what abunch of ******* **** im glad im not on that forum.

sounds peachy, right up until the moment you burn a piston from running those cylinders without adding any fuel.

So your car has the supercharged 3800 engine? Have you considered removing the S/C belt so the engine doesn't have to drive the blower? That might save you some gas too. My wife hates paying extra for premium gas (93 octane) for her 2000 Regal GS, but I told her that engine (L67) absolutely requires it.

JP...I hear ya on the wife thing. I make sure to fill up when it needs it, otherwise she'll put in 87 on me.

That isn't HIS car. He was just reposting what the original poster on CGP posted. He probably should have had it in a quote so it's less confusing. And the guy has a turbo 3.8.
