She's Baaa-aack!

Got her back Friday night, very pleased overall. The body shop did fantastic work IMO. Almost $11,000 in damage. These pics were taken after driving for a hour or so in the rain, wished I could have got a few pics of it clean.

We were able to save the MBRP tips, but typical M/F the tips are pimping out a half inch or so, so I will trim the pipes and also raise the tips up into the bumper.

The new system is also louder than my first, which was a first week production run, so I don't know the differences. Maybe I'm just used to a V6 now.

The back end was heaving to the right in left handed corners, like a panhard rod was broken on a RWD. Then thought the R/R tire may have a broken belt, so I got the Eagle F1 A/S's on the car. Noticed during the install I have a bent piece in my R/R, need to have it fixed tomorrow:

Yeah - reminded me of you when I saw it!

Want to show it to my insurance company, since the rear suspension is what stopped the forward intrusion. It's covered, want them to make sure both sides are square.

Think I'm going to look into the BMR unit you posted a few months ago. I'll have to pay the difference, but it looks like it's worth it.

Thanks - yeah; missed the power; XM music; ride / handling; 2-doors, etc. Basically everything!

StealthV8 Jun 30, 2008 02:39 AM

hope she stays looking good now.

Thanks!

Last night we were driving on a busy road coming up to a red light. Then I heard screeching, looked up and saw a girl in an Escort almost rear end me. WTF - can't win!

Take her cell phone away! Texting while driving is fun mkay.

The car turned out great!

Someone forgot to get back to me about a certain rear spoiler

Nacho SS Jun 30, 2008 05:22 PM

Oh yah and Kaz, keep the shiny side up .

bdyman Jun 30, 2008 10:21 PM

Dude... Irionicly the same thing happened to me a week after i got my car back from being in the shop for 6 months i was rear ended "tapped" by a honda civic
The car was so small but felt like it hit the shit out of my car but only left a little indentations in my bumper from the screw from his license plate. I told him to give me 300$ and i wouldn't go threw insurance. I was so tired of dealing with insurance and body shops at the time i just didn't care and wanted to continue my drive to work as long as nothing was mashed in.

Thanks Mike - this whole operation was black ops; didn't know the car was painted last Monday, musta worked hard on it over the weekend. They reused the spoiler, which was the only part on the rear not replaced.

That's why I'm getting the suspension fixed!!! This thing has a better paint job than my Z had! Never looked at the Monte as "dang!" before the accident.

Was rearended in a traffic jam - the "driver" hit me w/ a Chevy truck, went underneath me and pushed me into the three cars ahead of me, then dropped me.

I'm now actually paranoid of someone rear-ending my car. Not from the car's standpoint, but from my head's standpoint. That really sucked!

You better wrap your car with bubble-wrap then...

Semper91-RS Jul 1, 2008 02:56 AM

I have proof my car is tougher than rocks. Got rear-ended by some dumb bimbo in her boyfriends old PoS Eagle Talon. Knocked her entire left headlight out. Put a dime-sized dent in my bumper. Anyways, it's good to see someone with my exact car! :D

Yeah, good eyes! Went retro on the rear end - I personally like the decals looked on my '85 MCSS.
