Ok so I went and bought a 06 GXP before doing my homework. Guess I have a knack for picking problem children. It has 103000 on it and I'm noticing the tranny runs hot (what a surprise) so I am going to find and install a cooler real soon. Maybe do a fluid change with a filter and a shift kit. Not sure if its the original trans or not. My luck is it is. I am not looking to race or abuse it so does anybody think I can make this trans survive? Temps are reaching over 220 on a 80 degree day. I do try and drive it real nice. TRY being the key word. Gee how hard can this car be to work on after fixing my 6.0 ford.

These are pretty normal temps with the garbage factory cooler in place. And there's no maybe when it comes to fluid and fliter , that is a must. Drop the pan install an extra magnet replace filter, I would recommend a shift kit while you're there and button everything backup.

You should also take the time to install a trans cooler while you're at it. I would run standalone, instead of using the factory cooler.

Not exactly a fast mover here, other vehicles to drive as well. Finally have the tranny cooler in. Looks to drop the temp about 30 DEG like everyone says. Still seeing 195 on hot days. I know its coming. Got some plugs and wires recommended from this site, so i need to get those installed. Changed the cabin air filter YUCK. Looks original. Also noticed loose dogbone. Looking if anyone wants to split the poly bushing costs? Denver area?

I'll have to look into that. Do they cut the cost in half or just knock a little off?

They don't have the "dogbone" itself. I was looking at the 1" shorter version. Anybody try their fenderwell intake? For $99 might be worth looking at.

Check the for sale section. I was looking into one of the shorter dog bones as well.

Got the dogbone issue covered.

I also picked up a used tranny from a guy parting an 07. Figured I'd go ahead and build one up at my leisure and have it ready when mine goes.

Anybody tried the air intake kit that goes in the fender?

Yea. Thats the intake I'm thinking of. Seems like a decent deal for an intake.
