STS turbo kit, LME 370, tubular k-member

5 Attachment(s)
Guys, all these parts are off my buddy's Trans Am that he sold (or parts that didn't quit make it on the car haha). PM me for more details if needed and I will find out. Prices are not firm, please PM offers.

STS turbo kit-$1800+shipping-SOLD
Standard STS kit, T60, he said he paid for an upgrade, turbo says T60, so I am just going to go with that. The turbo is messed up. He was quoted $550 for STS to fix it. Includes a boost control as well. Turbo is good for 15 psi.

LS1 BMR tubular k-member-$SOLD

LME 370 iron block-$2000+shipping-SOLD
8.1:1 CR (have to find out at what head CC that is), LME told him this motor combination has made over 900 rwhp. There are some issues with the motor and we can get pics as needed. He is thinking it may be a main bearing but is not sure. The oil pressure went low on the dyno and we stopped. Most has all ARP bolts and forged internals.

99Z282NV 04-04-2007 06:34 AM

what happen to the motor why do you think its a main bearing let me know what happen thanks

slow95z 04-04-2007 06:36 AM

where are you located?

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-04-2007 06:57 AM

I live right near Charlotte NC, just north of town.

I will ask him if the motor was making any odd noises, but when it ran low on oil pressure like that we just assume there is something going on. He said bearing because the symptoms were the same as his stock bottom end when it went out. I will try to get a better explanation of it though for you.

BMR K Member Shiped Tp 45504 Money In Hand

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-04-2007 07:17 AM

PMs sent.

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-04-2007 07:25 AM

OK he saw some stuff in his oil pan that looked like bearing material and is telling me he thinks it is a rod bearing. The motor didnt make any noise or anything on him before it took it out of the car for a stock bottom end and sold the car.

I should have a shipping price around 1:00 today on that k-member for you scott.

slow95z 04-04-2007 08:20 AM

Karpellarpy 04-09-2007 12:59 PM

so the sts was on the same car that the motor was on? And what kind of electronic boost controller are you including with the sts kit?

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-09-2007 01:38 PM

Yes this whole setup came out of his car before he sold it for a Z06.

I will find out about the boost controller.

jeffboy757 04-09-2007 05:09 PM

if your ever interested in parting out the sts kit let me know, ill buy some of it

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-09-2007 07:39 PM

What are you looking for?

jeffboy757 04-09-2007 08:59 PM

lets see, i need the air filter/pipe, exhaust pipe, Ipipe and wastegate, pipeing going from throttle body all the way to turbo (looks like you kept your MAF, which is perfect) and all silicone connectors and clamps. this is all i really need to finish my project, so im looking to buy now, got another guy looking to made a deal from this add https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/687349-sold-sts-rear-mount-t70-upgrade-tial-bov-meth-kit.html so lemme know if you want to make a deal, your exhaust looks alittle less rusted too

distortion_69 04-09-2007 11:57 PM

If you need to ship that motor or something large, hit me up and maybe I can help on shipping.. I have done it for a few guys on here. I have a nice freight discount.

Peace,
Josh

Mach1Mustang 04-10-2007 12:02 AM

So you need pretty much everything but the turbo?

crzhrs 04-10-2007 06:54 AM

Hey Mike,

PM me details on the motor. Maybe Josh can work me out a even better deal on shipping cause he's not to far from me. Not exactly sure how he operates.

Brian

crzhrs 04-10-2007 06:55 AM

I might could even take that turbo and some left over parts from you. :)

Brian

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-10-2007 07:09 AM

I will give him a call today at lunch and post back up with all questions answered hopefully, should be about 3-4 hours (I am working right now :D)

udlose99ta 04-10-2007 08:01 AM

so you still have the complete sts kit? how much hp is the t67 good for? will the sts kit work with sfc's?

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-10-2007 08:33 AM

STS will not work with a driver side SFC as far as I know. As far as how much power it is good for, there are a LOT of factors that play in that. On 6 lbs his 370 made 530 rwhp with a very mild cam and ported heads. He had heat soak issues so the numbers only got worse (plus he had a leak in his intake gasket).

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-10-2007 09:21 AM

I just called him up and he said the boost controller is a hi/low switch. It is adjustable 15 lbs at the turbo and this switch allows you to switch from high to low boost.

He is going to try and get me more information when he gets off work.

PM sent to crzhrs

Transam 98 04-10-2007 05:39 PM

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-14-2007 04:07 PM

Jeffboy, I will talk to him about it, but at this stage I know he will want to try to sell it complete.

Anyone who did not get a message back from me, please PM me back. I have been having some issues with PMs lately.

jeffboy757 04-14-2007 05:01 PM

ok thanks, im pretty sure it will be alot easier to sell the turbo, boost controller, and gauges seperatly. let me know

WS6FirebirdTA00 05-03-2007 06:07 AM

k-member sold! A buyer told my buddy of some possible issues with the turbo and he is going back to STS on that about getting it fixed since they unit barely had miles on it.

Karpellarpy 05-03-2007 11:13 PM

props go out to this seller for being honest! I'm and the guy that raised the possible issues with the turbo. The turbo shaft could be moved a little side to side, which worried me. I'm new to forced induction, so I don't know how much movement is within spec. It's possible that it is normal and not a problem at all. Overall though, everything is in good shape ... heck I may still be interested if things check out ok or are delt with. Anyway, TTT for you, as I thought it was a very honest move to let everyone know about the chance of there being an issue instead of just trying to sell it off to someone without them realizing it.

ss496 05-04-2007 01:34 AM

whats the deal with the 370?

WS6FirebirdTA00 05-04-2007 06:03 AM

Yeah he is going to have it checked out. It did not sound normal to me, but I do not know much about FI parts. He asked some buddys and they told him the same thing. I told him to just call STS because there is no reason it should be messed up, as it is pretty much brand new. I also am not sure on what could cause something like that and would be interested to see their explanation.

ss496, what do you mean? If you have questions about it, ask. I am not sure what you are getting at?

Thanks man. I will let you know if he gets them to fix this. I just hate you had to drive all the way up here to find out.

WS6FirebirdTA00 05-15-2007 08:32 PM

Will That Sts Kit Fit An 04 Gto??? Pm Sent

WS6FirebirdTA00 06-30-2007 08:17 AM

You will need to contact STS, but I doubt it since it is made for an f-body.

DMONICGTO 07-01-2007 12:33 AM

So Whats Wrong With The Turbo??? And What Mods To Fit A 04 Gto

WS6FirebirdTA00 07-01-2007 07:52 AM

I told you, I cannot give you any fitment information. You need to call STS to find that out. This is for an f-body.

The turbo needs to be rebuilt.

kbracing96 07-01-2007 12:05 PM

Just a little FyI on turbos, side to side play is normal and nesassary for journal bearing turbos, anywhere from .018 to .025 (which feels like a lot) is normal as long as the wheels are not hitting the housing, but there should be little to no end play.

WS6FirebirdTA00 07-01-2007 12:31 PM

Thanks for the info :)

I do not know enough about turbos, one of the guys who came to look at it actually pointed it out.

SSPerformance 04-20-2008 07:31 PM

WS6FirebirdTA00 04-20-2008 07:41 PM
