crank the timing up and run good gas in it...
i ran 37 in mine....on 93 octane...
my car cam only with bolt ons ran 7.5x at 91..

you need to get rid of that junk TCI stall you have!!!!!!!! get rid of it as fast as you can...get a good yank or vigilante...and i gaurantee youll dyno more...run faster...more mph and drive better...

I think I am going to throw my et streets on the car and see what it will do this sunday. I actually like my TCI converter... It drives well and hits hard. I will probably invest in a dyno tune here soon as well. If I can get 7.6's out of it before I hit it with the 200 I will be happy. I wish I had the cash for some heads...

problem is the tci are good stalls for launching but they arent very efficient up top...so it might launch the same as a yank or vig but will not mph what one of those will...i dont think they are built to the tight tolerances like these guys...i woudlent be surprised if you picked up 3 mph in the 1.8 from just a converter change

Hmm... makes sense. The car does feel sluggish up top from a roll compared to other converter cars but still hit's just as hard. I just thought it might be the trans starting to slip slightly. Maybe I will look into a vig when I get my taxes back.

330 through an auto would probably be around 350 through a 6 speed, which is about on par with what a cc306 should make.

just a reduction in 60 foot to a 1.6x would drop your ET close to a 7.70.

also what do you have your rev limiter set at?
Agreed, you get some sticky tires, drop your 60 ft down to a 1.6 and 7.70's are in the bag.

Well guys the transmission tore up a few days after this thread was made, I am thinking a bad transmission was part of the equation when it came to the dyno numbers. Since then I have installed a built transmission, custom converter, lowered the shift points to 6500, added a ported intake and got some 27x11.5 QTP's. The car feels totally different now and I am not chasing down my shifting issues like I had been for over a year. We think the transmission was slipping the whole time. My converter was also fried. I am hoping for 7.5x's @ 90-91ish this coming sunday.

What are your thoughts?!

In continuing with the idea that I posted up above. My car runs 7.4s @ 90-91 with mid 1.5 60's and only about 330-340rwhp. A lower 60 with your old times should have been a 7.5-7.6. So yeah, I think you can do that.

I sure hope so, I really think the transmission had alot to do with the time it ran and the numbers it layed down. It can only get faster from here though!

I thought about playing with the timing but I am some what apprehensive due to running 11:1 SRP's and Impala gaskets.

You'd be surprised how much a slipping transmission will hurt you, in addition to a big converter. I dynoed 294whp with a big cam and a toast transmission - went out the next week and ran 12.4 @ 110.

I know how that goes, I will be putting it back on the dyno APR. 11th. I am really anxious to see how the car runs this weekend. I have never run it on slicks or dr's so it should be entertaining. I am debating on taking the front swaybar off considering the rest of my suspension is bone stock, just the way it came from factory in 94.

he's trapping almost 3mph higher than you in the 1/8 though

as for dyno numbers you have a stalled auto, those numbers would equate to around 350-360rwhp, for reference my cc503 stock heads car made 325rwhp through an unlocked 3000 stall

tci's are pretty loose from my experience

60': 2.032
E/T 8.178
MPH: 87.847
figure roughly every 1/10 lost in the 60' is good for around 1.5~ 1/10s in the 1/8 mile, using that logic if you bring your 2.0x 60' to a 1.7 60'. that's 3 1/10s right there reduction from your ET right there along with another 1.5 1/10s removed. that's a 7.728 1/8th mile ET approx. lower the 60' even more and you have an easy 7.6xx car

also that 88mph ET is good for around 112mph trap in the 1/4 which is well on par with your approx power/weight
