New PB at local 600 foot track
Well I got the car back together after the nitrous mishap(nitrous is OFF the car and will remain off)
Loosened the coverter, still not enough though. Will stall 3000 on the footbrake now!
Before it ran a best of 6.62 at 93.2, 1.52 60 foot in 50 degree air.
Yesterday it went faster EVERY pass, temp was high 60's to low 60's right at dusk(where my best was run).
Yesterday
60ft 1.48
et 6.53
mph 94.19
This track is about 3.5 to 4 tenths quicker than a full 660 foot track.
This car will now run 10's without a doubt in my mind, I will go soon to Hattiesburg Ms and run the car to get my 5 year goal on paper.
Was done on drag radials, still 3700+ lbs, through full exhaust, on pumpgas with the air filter in. Driven to and from the track.
Loosened the coverter, still not enough though. Will stall 3000 on the footbrake now!

Well I took other peoples word for the way it was setup to be safe. The car is so hard to get plugs in and out I got lazy and relied on other peoples opinions instead of doing what I should have done.
I thought long and hard about pulling it off. The trans is having a hard time dealing with the power and weight I have now, NOS would have made it MUCH worse. So a turbo 400 was in my future. I didnt want that.
I would have had to change the rear gear from a 4.11 to a 3.50 to run the 1/4. I didnt want that.
I am more of an all motor kinda guy anyway, And to pull it off was MUCH cheaper than changing the stuff to make it work properly(gear, trans and whatever else broke because of it).
Besides, to me a all motor 10 second streetcar is way cool.

"Back in the day" (when my hair was still brown) Cecil County probably had more records set there than anyplace. Well, along with Atco. Wish we had tracks like that here in Div 4. My fastest passes this year have been here at TRP, in 1500'+ air and and marginal track prep. Having to leave at 3000, instead of 4800 RPM on the good tracks, which were all back in the summer.
You ain't lived until you spend summer in OK and TX.

Congrats David! Good to see you still working with the car...Which is more than I can say for myself...Had a fight with two oil pans and now the season is done...Maybe next year I'll find that 10 second slip...And I like the Convo Pros in your sig picture...I may be getting a set of the 15x4s with the 2.33" backspace and the new 15x9s with the 6.5" backspace...They fit LT1s with no mods and are like $700 delivered from Summit...
