LT1 won't start..HELP!!!

I parked my trans am in my driveway a few days ago and didnt start it for 3 days, when I went to go start it, it wouldn't fire. I ran a scan on it and i got this code "Ignition System Problem elec spark timing (EST) open circuit" I checked all my plugs and everything is plugged in. I am not sure what else I can do.

Any code relating to the Ignition is probably relating to the Optispark. In my experience, stick with OEM. You can buy one from a dealer. Stay away from the cheap ones.

I really not hope, Its a brand new GM opti with only 273 miles on it

There's a little wire that plugs into the top of the Opti. Make sure that is securely plugged in. I know mine wasn't when I replaced it and ti would sit there and crank all day.

The plug coming from the wiring harness?

the_merv Nov 24, 2008 02:50 PM

Yea, it goes into the top of the Opti.

I pushed on it and its on there pretty good

I would question the warranty on your Opti and go from there. I don't know what else could be holding it up. Are you getting fuel?

List of mods?

edit- did you reset the battery? (to reset the code)

Ported heads/intake
custom cam
30lb SVO injectors
1.6rr
LT's
52mm TB
CAI
MSD coil
GM opti
electric water pump

and I'm definately getting fuel

the_merv Nov 24, 2008 10:32 PM

Is everything connected near the Coil, make sure nothing come un-plugged..

spina74 Nov 25, 2008 12:19 PM

yea, everything is plugged in i double checked..and what boggles my mind is that the computer is saying open circuit which usually means something is unplugged, but its not
