Well the dipstick is missing for the trans also. And the plug wires are off.

AHH, I see it now.

Paul Bell Dec 24, 2008 11:28 AM

Merry Christmas!

The valve won't turn or move, it's bent. These are the Comp Cams Beehive springs. My machine shop says while it shouldn’t have happened, we should replace all the springs.

Great. Gotta pull the heads. Studded, too.

Damn i didnt even see it. The op needs to put a big red circle around it for people like me.

And no, that cant be good.

Paul Bell Dec 24, 2008 11:32 AM

I pull the two dipsticks to help get the heater hoses and LTCC coil packs out of the way. The coil packs bolt to the two studs where the center hold down bolts go.

Yah, I'm getting pretty good at taking everything apart, I even know the socket sizes. Heaven knows I've takin everything apart plenty of times!

HOly shit I have never seen a pushrod come threw a cover, wow.

I hope nothing got into the cylinder and you can fix it somewhta easily, good luck.

marc97taws6 Dec 24, 2008 11:44 AM

Ouch, looks expensive and unnecessary extra work.. I don't like that

Marc3.4V6 Dec 24, 2008 11:45 AM

lol, don't know how I could've missed that, sorry.

So it was spring failure then? Maybe you can get comp cams to pay for it?

xx_ED_xx Dec 24, 2008 11:58 AM

Yeah good luck on that one.

96lt1m6 Dec 24, 2008 12:41 PM

bro that's just a flesh wound!
seriously though that sucks, studded at that and on the pass. side:mad:

bombebomb Dec 24, 2008 01:48 PM

Never even noticed the pushrod, thats a wicked cool photo, at your expense.

Paul Bell Dec 24, 2008 02:04 PM

The valve cover is nothing, the spot is hidden by the coilpack. I'll just epoxy up the hole.

Just not looking forward to draining the coolant, disconnecting EVERYTHING, pulling the intake and acc. bracket then everything else.

OH WELL, it was time for new spark plugs anyways....

crzytown69 Dec 24, 2008 02:08 PM

if it was a snake it would have bit me lol
