Removing oil pan out of car.
Yep I'm full of projects. I have all of the bolts off of the stock pan and I'm trying to drop it, I've jacked the engine up about 3-4 inches and it still doesn't want to come out - seems like its hitting against the bellhousing and the engine doesn't want to go any higher. Any input would be great, I have the starter out and hooker LT's are in place w/o the y-pipe and away from the pan.

Yep, I got the nuts off of those. Its completely loose, it just won't come completely out b/c it won't get under the bellhousing. I'm thinking I might have to move the passenger side header a bit and maybe slip it out sideways.

re
loosen the k-member bolts. just one at a time, take the bolt out and put it back in with 2-3 threads hand tight. you should have enough wiggle room then, the oil sensor has gotten me before, but shoebox already covered that one. Good Luck

Anyone gotten theirs off w/o removing the k-member bolts? Or has anyone had to drop the transmission? Just trying to get some more input here b/c I have to take it out now b/c chunks of the old gasket are now inside of the pan.

on an m6 car you have to lower the K member or remove bellhousing (k member is ALOT easier!) with an a4 car you just have to jack up the engine, the k member and intake can remain in place!

OK, I've done this a couple of times, but I have an automatic tranny, as someone already said. I did not, however, have to remove the intake fo extra room, but I suppose that might work if you have a 6 speed.
Nonetheless, getting the oil level sensor out of the pan is important (that caught me the first time), as well as having the crank rotated properly, so the counterweights at the front of the engine are "up" and out of the way.
