Default installing new ignition (key) cylinder. any words of wisdom?

my ignition cylinder died on me and i am about to dig into it.

(i already have a replacement, its nice when your roommate works at a pontiac dealer and gets you stuff for cost ) .

i was wondering if anybody has any tips to make it go a little bit smoother.

thanks in advance.

shoebox didnt have anything on the cylinder replacement but chilton did.

i have come accross so many issues thus far. major PITA, no wonder why they bill 4 hours for it.

i have had to buy a few specialty tools (seperate trips naturally)

for the most part its just reassembly now...
