You can get either the Corvette or the F-Body water pump at rockauto.com for pretty much the same price, they start at 85 bucks or so.

I can't seem to find the F-Body version for a car without the oil cooler.

96 and up F-Body cars had a slightly different hose configuration and the WP had the up pointing curved outlet.

Oh and if you're really cool you can add one of those flush kits into this section of hose that has a fitting for attaching a regular garden hose to it and now you have a very easy way to do a annual cooling system flush. I did this to my car a few years ago and never looked back, I understand about clutter, and I also removed my air pump and the bracketry for that at the same time. I'm just doing the EWP now and wish I had sooner... Good luck with whatever you choose. But the plug story is like....

REALLY??

Ok, i am going to get a regular fbody pump with the oil cooler line. I will then take the line out of the water pump and tap threads in the hole and seal it that way. So there will be no jimmy rigging or caping or plugging or anything that will have a chance of crapping out on me. My air pump along with my egr system is all gone and i now have pacesetter longtubes, so cleaning the engine bay is really what im going for. And i WILL NOT rigg ****.

Who cares if you "rigg" ****, really? It's not like I said to use duct tape, using a bypass cap and a hose clamp is more than sufficient to plug any port, and I don't really care how it looks, as long as it functions. I removed a bunch of stuff under the hood for weight reduction, not to make it look pretty...

I think you should try the duct tape and report back.

holy hell, are you serious?!! please dont follow this guys advice. those caps are meant for vacuum ports not to plug a damn waterpump to keep boiling hot coolant and pressure in.

The big bypass caps are very thick, it works perfectly. I have all of the three smaller ports on the WP capped off and the little port on the radiator too. No problems here.

It's better to try to do things correctly the first time and there won't be a second time to re-do it when there's a problem. If you use a vacuum cap to hold back hot coolant under some pressure and it works, more power to ya. I for one wouldn't rely on it for more than it's designed for, vacuum stuff. Think it's made anywhere outside of Asia? It'll be pretty messy if that thing goes and it's never a "good" time for such things.

Sorry dude it dint mean to make any refrance to you when i said "rigg" ****. I totally appreciate any and all advice. I just want to make double sure it will be a permanant fix. I have the engine out and the pump will be coming soon so I might as well do a good permanant fix just to make sure. I live in colorado springs and make regular trips to dickinson ND. Thats a 700 mile drive. I really would hate for the unexpected to happen on a 700 mile trip. So please dont take offence to wnything i said, youv given me alot of good advise in other threads iv started.
