It's good to have some base flow numbers now for us to go off of, that aren't from some website who collected it from another site, who heard it from some guy who actually did it

My only issue is that they didn't test the same cyl between ported and stock :\ Should've tested Cyl 2 or 6 in all tests. Ideally they should've tested every one and given an average, but that's just wishful thinking lol

Maybe you could tell us what methods and bits you used to do this?

i am firebirds buddy who did the porting.I have a weecheer electric motor that works on a foot pedal for variable speed. And i use a few different carbide NF burrs of different lengths and diameters.I am fairly new to porting,i am experimenting with an ls1 head now, but i am doing his set of lt1 heads so we can get his car back together asap.If he doesnt get pics up for ya i will put some up tommorow or tonight when i get that head back from him.He drove it out to get flowed. His car should really rip with the cam and heads.I could have done a bit more work on the head in the conbustion chamber but i dont want to lower compression any more.and we cant mill the heads because of the PTV clearances with his cam.For a weekend street car we dont want to run it to tight.

I have just a quick question, why did you have them test your heads on a 4.155" bore fixture? This wouldn't be a real running condition for a lt-1 block that is a 4.0" bore.

No bashing here, but it looks like you might want to keep any cam choice under .550 lift. Then again, what do I know.

Always good to see a DIYer try this out. That is a very nice improvement over stock. The 847 cam CAN work on stock heads with a good tune. It will rock with a ported head like yours. Keep us posted on how it runs.

will have pics for you guys tommorow when i get the head back.i will post up some pics of the bits i am working with also.I am not sure why they use the larger bore fixture either, they did the same thing with the ls1 head i brought to them.its an A/B comparison so its not a big deal to me,i just want to see what kind of improvement we are looking at.

if i had to guess somewhere between 365-380 rwhp.He has a great exhaust setup and even a decent intake setup. With the ported heads, bigger cam and fully ported intake manifold to match the heads it should breath pretty easy past 4k
