Questions About Rocker Arms
i bought a 65 el camino a couple of weeks ago it had a 461/468 lift cam vette heads 202 valves it has stock rocker arms can i put 1.6 rocker arms should that bring my lift up to like 490? and also i was wondering how much power would i get from that and will the car sound like it has a bigger cam?

one more question i have a 400 small block im dropping in a 84 el camino its got flat top pistons we are going to put summit heads on it 67cc chambers 520lift valve springs what size cam would you run in it? around 500 lift?

You'll be looking at 491/499 lift with 1.6 rockers on the 65 elc. Little to no difference in sound, because the duration really doesn't change. Power increase will be determined by how well the current cam fits the combination. Probably won't be a seat of the pants difference.
Lot's more info needed for anyone to make a cam recomendation on the 84.

400 small block stock bore flat top pistons stock crank and connecting rods heads are 67cc chamber valve springs handle 520 lift 670cfm street holly carb dual plane intake
i need a cam kit now so what other info is needed?

Duration is a more important specification than lift when choosing a cam. Given that you're using a dual plane intake, a 670 cfm carb, and stock rotating assembly, I would look at something with a duration in the mid 220's to low 230's. A flat tappet cam in that duration range will probably fall somewhere between .480 and .500 lift. The bigger the cam gets, the more converter and gear that will be needed for it to perform well.

alright cool thanks thats what i was thinking 480-510 lift we can run any converter we want we still havent got one rear end hasnt been done yet but will be after its running
