Default Who has the bad *** Bassani True Dual exhaust system

Thinking very seriously about getting this Bassani True Dual setup for my LT1.

Yes I know its nearly a grand but I can sell my Borla adjustable catback and cutout to reduce the hit.

My question to you guys that have this on a LT1.
1. Even though this is marketed toward the LS1, how well do the front pipes interface with your LT's? FWIW I have LPP's which are similar to the Kooks.

2. Where did you purchase it?

3. Any regrets?

That doesnt look like dual anything. Looks like an X pipe into a single chamber with two outlets, which both go to one side. For a grand you can buy your own w pipe and two borla xr-1 muflers and have it all custom fabbed in.

I like it a lot. Looks like 2Otl once it's all bolted up. I bet it sounds good too!

I'm not crazy about the 2OTL look ... but I'm interested to see how it performs.

FWIW, you can have mandrel duals fabbed up for well under $1000.
I used 4 x 180* sections and 3 of the 45* sections that came with my X pipe kit (Jegs).
Took a good 4 hours to do the whole thing. All professionally cut and welded.

Did you run all the way to the rear bumper?

Okay.
I bought a Hobart handler 140 MIG welder today. Been looking for an excuse to get one for years. TD's is as good as any other reason I can think of. Just contributed my bit to stimulating the economy.

I am going to try my best to learn to weld well before jumping in. I am going to try real hard to not do the TD's in a sngle weekend. I will be able to make them the exact way i want.

It appears that the conventional x-pipe like used in the Basssani will not work with my Midwest TA crossmember (mount). So the Bassani is out of the picture except to copy. There is a narrow x-pipe at Jegs that will work for me:
http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/1130498/10002/-1

I am going to make a system that will allow me to easily and quickly install bullet cats at the collectors if I desire, install a pair of e-cutouts 18" back from the collectors to make it real FUGGIN loud and to tuck things up nicely for max ground clearance.

James,
Please post those pics when you get them.
