lets make this easy, will you fellas post your cam only or h/c stock bottom end LT1 combos please? i dont care what you "researched" or "heard/read" - i want real world. i would also like to see trap speeds.
a 400 rwhp LT1 should be able to trap 120+ mph. i see speed demon has backed it up

HEADS/cam cars put down that number fairly often. You said the heads are worked.
Guys have put down big but unusable numbers cam only, If a cam peaks at 6500 you can hit that peak with a stock shortblock on the dyno but chances of actually being able to effectively and reliably use it at the track are slim.
A good hydraulic roller 383 with ported LT1 heads should be higher, one company has repeatedly deliver 44Xrwhp with such a setup through an automatic.
A solid roller stroker with ported LT1 heads can top 500rwhp.
The average is brought WAY down by the folks who think they know more, or that think they can "save" money buying "equivalent" parts that are nowhere near equivalent.

btw, i love the word "research" that is so prevalent to these internet car boards. if i see someone use that word, it instantly clues me in what i am dealing with. someone that reads and doesnt actually RACE or BUILD cars. there is a HUGE difference b/w reading and doing.
sure there are exceptions, but i base this on my own "research" lol

Phil is a member here. From the times I have talked to him about the car, he has always specified it as a cam only car, stock heads. He has mentioned that there is not port work on the heads. Also, I haven't seen any other graphs from the dyno day. Does this dyno typically give higher then normal numbers? From what I hear, the car still has about another 15hp in the tune. Someone said the car was down in the 10's on the AFR. I have a feeling that Phil is going to call me out and beat my cam only LS1.... what is this world coming to.

CoreTA from N2S, but I just want everyone to be clear that he did say that the car has NO HEAD WORK.
I've yet to find any cam only LT1s that come within 20-30rwhp of that number.
Phil knows his ****, that's great. But to find the "holy grail" of combos when these motors have been being built for what, 15+ years would be pretty surprising. My Cam only LS1 numbers don't come close even, maybe I should get an LT1

The heads are stock.. So even if they were ported stock heads which we wouldnt know unless we actually saw it apart, He still wouldnt be able to make those numbers. But he did

I wouldn't say way down as mine was pulled on a dyno known for making lower numbers plus having many issue's with the car at the time (driveshaft coming off on 2 different dyno's) and when it made 387 with formato, it was only pulled to 5800rpms. I dont think he has done anything special since he just wanted to get the car up and running and he still has parts waiting to go on. I would love to run the car for real world comparision. With that said, I dont know if the bottom end is stock ( i believe it is), or if the heads and intake are completely stock. I am not sure what size rockers he is using. There are many different variables to it but i think it is just a well thoguht out cam-only build, with the right parts on a dyno that could be a little giving, but again i dont know much about the dyno or the combo's that have come off of it.

Lets not get into the big came talk, your car doesn't have stock heads, therefore it isn't cam-only. Plus what dyno were you on. Both mine and his car are very similiar as far as mods, cam, and numbers. There is some power left in both car via the tune (atleast for mine anyways) and both car were dyno'd on the same dyno that took a cam-only 430 car and put out 39x numbers. Ford and J&J are both a little bit more giving on numbers then the dyno him and I were both on..... everyone hear knows that dyno numbers dont mean much anyways, but Phil is a hell of a driver and I am sure after the rear gets put in, he wil be able to back up those number.

Yes texas speed, ive always delt with them.. Good customer service.. The car did have 243 heads, but i dont classify it as a H/C Car.. I went fron the 241 heads, so it was a very small jump and the 243's were completly stock off a 06 Vette. Just got them for a good deal and threw them on! But I agree 430 was a nice number for the H/C combo i had, cause it wasnt a HUGE cam, and heads were basically stock
