how much power can your stock crank shaft bolts handle
im just wondering since i got a friend that thinks his stock main cap bolts are going to be ok on his 385. I could of swore that those stock bolts are rated at 600hp or something but not positive thats why im asking.
i think he should get some nice bolts like ARP bolt or ??????????????
so how much power can the factory 2 bolts hold

i know va guy on this board that is making 459 to the wheels. and spays a 175 on it.. making prob 650-675 rwhp. he has a nitrous cam.. his has lived for 4 -5 years now.. he dumps the clutch at 6000 with slicks. hooks right up and then spays second gear.. i won't advise this much power.. it will break.. soon. o hyea. stock bottom end. never been out of the car..

Competition Products in Oshkosh is a good source for this sort of stuff.
Thing is though he needs to use hardware of the type the block was line honed with. If it was line honed with stock bolts then I would recommend staying with a bolt. If the line hone is not done yet I would go ahead and do studs.
