Yank it out. If the bolt is out, that's the only thing that holds it in other than the lip that seals against the block.

if you can't get it out by "gently" pull/twist it than remove starter and use a screw driver against the bracket and tap it up/out

twist and pull. Eventually it will act like its not going anywhere and that is when i slid my hand lower and slightly bent the tub down while pulling and it came right out. hope this helps

Like others have said just wiggle it out and it will come. Now the fun part, or at least it was for me, is getting it back in. My old one didn't want to cooperate and I tried to just muscle it in there. I ended up messing it up to the point I just got a new one from the dealer. Before you put it back in sand the paint off with some fine sandpaper and coat the end in motor oil. It should pretty much slide right in for you then. That's what I did with the new one and it worked great. I'd also recommend opening the bolt hole on the bracket up a bit with a drill too. It's a major bitch getting that to line up otherwise.

Twist, pull, repeat. Just like your first date.

It wont look like anythings happening but it will eventually ;-)

When it goes back in you do want to lube it a bit with motor oil or copper-slip or something to make it easier. I think I put silicon on mine as well up near the lip to help seal any potential for leaks as well.

Yep. I put some RTV right at the lip to help with sealing.
