Don't like how it sounds

Newly built 355 LE2 H/C/I combo running. I'm not liking how it's sounding and I know its because I went cheap and got the summit turbo muffs lol. :bang: It was ok, but now it's drone is getting annoying and its much to quiet. Any ideas? I was going to shell out the big bucks and go with the dynomax ultra flo's but man 130 a piece phew.. And for something I haven't heard in person i better not be dissapointed. Here is how it sounds now with the summit turbo muffs.

I dont think it sounds bad at all? What about single chamber flowmasters if you want it louder. Or cutouts? Droning exhuast sucks. Im going to back to the magnaflow and cutouts. Make it quiet or loud from a flick of the switch.

Ill whore out my Camaro, of the difference between the Cut-out and muffler....

Go with the eBay Flowmaster single chamber knock-offs. Around $60shipped for the pair. They're not too quiet, not too loud, and sound pretty good IMO. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9...ust_192864.htm

sounds good to me

Moroso spiralflows sounds pretty good, I have one on mine and they are only about $50 apiece.

They have the thrush brand 2 chambers at $29 a piece they would sound pretty good. I had 1 chambers and after driving around for a while they would give me a headache but I had mine dumped under the car. If they would have been out the back it may have been better. I now have the magnaflow magnapacks round muffler $70 a piece it sounds great at idle has a mean scream to it a wot and is almost quite out on the interstate at 70mph! Best of both worlds.lol

strokin93z Jun 10, 2009 10:47 AM

Hooker MaxFlow! Sounds soo great. My camera doesn't do any justice. The idle is nice quiet and Deep mumble:secret2: .Cruising, the car interior noise is nearly nonexistent. in fact i get nervous because i cant hear the exhaust from inside the car. . But say you go between 2 buildings, u hear a extremely aggressive growl. WOT is a completely different animal. :D Sounds like a bullet muffler. Ive had someone tell me it sounds like a Nascar. rofl. :chug:
Clip: $70 ea.

I think it sounds ok.
I used dynomax bullets dumped b4 the axle and love it except the interior drone cruising at low rpms in 5/6th gear

sdotlog Jun 10, 2009 07:48 PM

Hmm... My buddies say it sounds good. you all say it sounds good and its through video, but the drone is getting a bit annoying. I'll just need to have someone drive the thing so i can hear it as a bystander lol

Doesn't sound too bad. I would have went w/ something different myself but that's just me. Glad to see it's running for ya. I would invest in a DMH Electric cut-out then you can by-pass them mufflers you don't like :)

x2 on dynomax bullets. they sound AWESOME when its ran out the rear. no drone unless its dumped before the axle. i have a clip....(kinda) ill post it up

wrd1972 Jun 10, 2009 09:18 PM

Its not that bad. It is not lumpy and "pissed" sounding as a result of the tame specs of the emmisions cam.

67goatman455 Jun 10, 2009 09:22 PM

Only video i have. And it wasn't me recording so sorry.

Yea I knew it wasn't going to be really lumpy, but has some to it. Damn emissions.

Yea, I looked at em. 360 for the 2 elec. cutouts... whoo spendy lol. I've got more important things to "invest in". But definitely, getting those after i get some better muffs. Then one day we can go parading with our cutouts lol
