Default Oilpump drive gear anybody have a fix?

I am finishing up my new 383 and the last part I was putting on the engine was oilpump drive and then the intake, lastly into the car when I tightened up too much before the plastic cracked. Well it's my fault and I will get a new one unless somebody has an alternative, like a billet part? Just wishing but there was a retainer piece in case the plastic broke anybody have one or now where to get one soon? TIA Clint

He is not talking about the steel shaft that mates to the oil pump itself. He is talking about the dummy distributor shaft that bolts down in the lifter valley to take the cam rotation and turn it 90degrees for that driveshaft.

Shons is the only one I know of. I need to buy one soon, unfortunatly I had to buy a stock one as well since you need to swap parts onto the billet one. Becoming pretty expensive for such a small simple piece

I should have said I have never had an issue with a stocker. Some guys will bend up little metal tabs to try and retain a stocker in case of failure.

Thanks guys i actually had one built out of billet aluminum over the weekend. I tried to use an olod SBC distributor but the guy helping me said I have some aluminum stock so why don't we just make a new one out of aluminum. After we finished up I looked over on here and saw the link to Shons and ours looks very similar. Thanks Later
