Anyone have an update on Dart's 427 LTX stroker block?
It's been awhile since I actively read on this site and I wanted to know if Dart finally came out with their LTX block...and if they have, has anyone built one yet???

Soon. It will obviously take awhile for them to produce it because they want to design it correctly and also design some heads exclusively to use on this revolutionary LTx product to make it its full potential

I was just at the Street Rod Nationals, and I spoke with a guy from Dart about these blocks, he said they are retooling and making improvements to the block and will be a 2-piece main block due to some extra difficulty involved in producing a one-piece he said, priced right at the SBC/SBF SHP block price. give or take a hundred or so. He said no date has been set for release, but look towards the beginning of the year most likely. Also, just as they offer short block packages for the SHP block, he said they will be available for the LT1 SHP block as well and would only require some minor clearancing (and small base cam) for a 4" crank, no clearancing for a 3.75" crank, just as with the SBC SHP block.

Why should we believe you? Do you have a six speed Camaro running 9.0s that still gets street driven or some thing.... oh wait...you do. On Big Rick's LT1, the block wasn't ever really an issue, other aftermarket parts were but the block was a pretty tough son of a gun. Like I've said before, the block has more potential then most builds can take advantage of.

In think the LTX block is plenty strong, but that is because it is basically limited to 396ci. At 434 cubes, I think there is enough power potential to make the factory blocks integrity become an issue.
It is still strong enough for 99% of the builds, but the extra cubes would be nice regardless .
