Default How necassary are roller rockers

So im sitting here staring at my brand new engine all installed and ready to go except for roller rockers which wont be here untill next week. Can i throw my stock rockers back on just to run it and do the break in time? They are in perfect condition and everything but what im worried about is the patriot dual springs and the lift of the xfi280 being too much for them. what does everyone think?

I'd wait. Stock rockers might not hold up to the heavier springs and high lift. Why would you risk a new engine, if you already had concerns, yourself?

Excellent advice! Patience is the best choice here.

how much lift is it? thats the only thing I would worry about.

I have used stock rockers with 170# seat preassure and over400 open and never had an issue. Youwill nee to check the slot in the rocker for the studd and make sure it has clearance at max lift.
