How sweet would a 434 SBC LT1 BE?
*NEW* Pump Gas 434 Small Block Chevy
* Ohio Crankshaft 4340 x 4.00 crank
* 6.88 OC H-beam rods
* SRP professional dish pistons
* 1.5 - 1.5 - 3.0 plasma moly ring
* Federal Mogul race bearings
* Internally Balanced
Ohiocrankshafts new rotating assembly... Priced well
Thoughts?
I dont want to do it, I am going with their forged Street Rodder 383 assembly

Indeed, just as long as it's built right.
Because you would need a 4.15 bore. The most a stock LT1 block should be bored is 4.06 and that's pushing it and the block should be thoroughly sonic checked before boring that much. Not to mention a 4" stroke would need block fill because the extra clearance would be going into the water jackets in the pan rail. It can be done. There have been those who've done 420+CID LT1 engines, but had to sleeve the block. Not only is that costly, but it really takes someone who knows what they're doing to make it work. The cost just does not justify the means.

What block are they using? The new Dart LT1 block that's soon to be released?
I built a 434 for a friend using a GM L98-type block; no filling needed.

Oh nevermind then, thanks for the input. I was curious if it could be done, I wouldnt want to, I know it would cost triple what a 383 kit would run me when its all said and done.
And like i said, it is a new kit they released, just wondered if any one knew **** about it, but 383 for the win or a 408... right merv?

That's saying something when many many that I've read and heard as well as talking to different machine shops have all run into water at some point or another clearancing blocks for a 3.875" stroke. Perhaps the pan rails are a tad thicker on a L98 style?
Your what?
Your what?

I was told today not to waste my money on my LT1, just sell the car for what i can and buy an LS1 car... are LT1s really that bad? or just under estimated and people just dont know how to builkd one

Yea, there was a bunch of Camaros and Trans Ams there tonight, i didnt run my car, not yet.. waiting till last of the season so when I blow the rearend I wont care since winter will be coming.
Anyway, yea this dude was BSing me telling me how shitty LT1s are and how a Head/Cam LT1 still cant beat a stock LS1... really? i doubt that
I hope sometime over the winter to start my build thread, I already have a seperate block waiting to get bored out.
