Default LT1 vs LS1 opinions!!!

i have owned 2, LS1 cars and 1, LT1 car and i can say they are both great engines... of course with time comes better technology but i think the LT1 is way under rated compaired to LSX stuff... IMO i think the main gain you get from an LS1 is if you had a $1,000 budget and all you could do is full exhaust, tune, and minor bolt ons and ect... then you do have a much better system as we all know the LS1 car will pretty much out do the LT1... but once you have already gone though the LT1 and figured out the best cam, work done to heads, and the right tune, power adder and ect then i really think you have a much closer situation!!!

to me its really hard to turn down the better prices on LTX parts from basic bolt ons to power adders and cylinder heads and everything... not to mention the sound of a built LT1 is much more muscle sounding compaired to the LS1... but then again we have the optispark system which isnt exactly great but there have had many guys to have great luck out of them.... i personally have had decent luck out of the opti but on my new setup i am going with the LS1 computer and coils!!!

so what are you guys opinions on the 2, not being biased and looking at all sides of the situation... this isnt a thread trying to figure out which is better cause honestly we should all know that the LS1 is a step up over the LT1 due to one being engineered in the 80's and one in the 90's... i just think it is highly under rated and isnt so much behind as people think... like i say i have owned both engines and have seen what they do with all different bolt ons, nitrous, and superchargers... im just wondering what some of you LS1 LT1 gurus think about the in detail compairison of these 2 great GM engines!!!

yeah im sure this has been brought up before i was just wanting to hear some new opinions and compair the engineering of the heads and intake and ect... and to also see who thinks the main gain is if you were racing bolt on cars... cause i kinda think that if you have 2 built to the gills that the race could be iffy... i know this has been talked about i just didnt see where guys have gone into details of what the pros and cons are of the 2 with them having the best of the best parts CNC'd AI's or TF's solid roller cams and what not...

i just know not everyone knows how to make the best of their car and maximize what they have which resulted in so many seveire beatings in LT1s against LS1s... i mean i have friends who go mid to low 7s on bone stock bottom end LT1s with stock cams and ect... i for sure dont wanna start any arguments or **** off the guys who run the forum with a post that has been made before... i wanted to make this one different in a way

The guy above is right. This topic has been beatin' to death and isn't to be debated any longer IMHO. If you wan't some opinions on the two just go read one of the million threads about this same topic. We just had one recently that was like 8 pages for gosh sakes.

Glad to see our section is full of life.

It all comes down to opinions, money and ability. You can go fast either way and enjoy it either way.
