Can't connect to PCM

Anybody know why my laptop can't connect to the PCM? I tried a replacement pcm and still had the same problem. I get an error message saying I can't connect. This is a problem that just started. I can't connect to datamaster either. Could my OBD1 port be damaged?

Does the car start/run fine?

I couldn't scan my OBD2 once and it was the cigarette lighter fuse. The port is on the same circuit.

well i thought my computer was shot so i put a new one in. the car starts but it shuts off probably because the tune in the pcm i put in isn't setup for the larger injectors. i did notice that besides not being able to load a new tune or read the pcm the fuel pump is not priming. i hear a little noise from it but not the usual which leads me to think multiple issues just popped up at the same time. either their related or its two completely different things that broke at the same time.

i'll have to check that out. i checked a couple of fuses but not the lighter one. i did notice the only option that works is the check vin option on the tuning software. i found it weird that it can't read the pcm but the check vin option works.

Do your fans come on when you have the 'key on' position?

Checked the lighter fuse and it was good. Not sure what to check next.

Thats your first sign right there. Sounds like a bad PCM or tune, reload your file if you can.

thats what im saying i cant connect to the pcm so i cant load a tune. had my pcm in the car, fans didnt start, and car wouldnt take a tune. bought another pcm, fans turn on, and car still wont take a tune.

okay so i got the car to turn on. i have a bad fuel pump relay. car will turn on only with the relay bypassed. however the fans are still turning on when the switch is on so I have to figure that one out as well along with why I can't connect to the PCM. i dont know what happened but all this stuff went wrong out of nowhere. fuel pump and no pcm connection, then the next day fans turning on when the ignition switch is in the on position.
