Default LS1 engine into 3.4 V6 1994 Camaro

Hi guy's, I have a question for all you LS1 gearheads. I was given a 1994 camaro with a 3.4 V6 that is in real good shape. the motor was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. but I have always loved V8. so my thing is I have a 2004 silverado that I plan to drop in a LS2 engine in it. It currently has a 4.8 with a 5 speed manual trans. Now could I drop this into my 94 camaro, which also has a 5 speed manual on the V6. If so what do I need and how difficult will it be. I would like to use the whole drive train off the truck since the trans is for a V8. any ideas or comments will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

If you just spent money on a rebuild 10k miles ago, I wouldn't swap it and throw it away.

Pick one to be a toy, the other to be your DD.

If you're looking for V6 to V8 swaps, theres tons of info on this site you don't have to ask for, its already been posted.

Catch my drift?

I have swapped several truck motors (both LM7's and LQ4/9's) into Fbody's before. You will need everything required for a LS1 swap + more.

-LS1 k-member
-LS1 wire harness & ECU
-LS1/6 intake manifold (truck manifold won't fit under hood)
-LS1 oil pan, windage tray, and pick up tube (truck pan has clearance issues with k-member)
-LS1 Fbody front acc's (truck acc's don't work, I believe it's because the alt sits too high, also truck water pump has clearance issues with LS1/LS6 intake and TB)

You'll have to do some research as to how to hook it up to the '94 body harness. All of the truck engine swaps I've done have been into LS1 Fbody cars, so it was plug and play with a LS1 engine wire harness.

As is the 5.3 with stock LS1 stuff bolted to it, it would be a HUGE step up over your v6. I had a 5.3 M6 powered Fbody (stock truck heads, LS1 intake, LS1 TB, LS1 exhaust manifolds) and it kept up with my buddy's '97 z28 A4 w/ CAI, LT headers, & exhaust.

While you are at it, I'd throw on a few bolt on's and possibly a cam.

thanks guys I really appreciate it, happy my silverado is my toy. it's an 04 RST and the only problem with those trucks is that they have the small 4.8. now don't misunderstand me that lil 4.8 scoots and makes it fun to drive. but I want to really haul a-- in that truck. the camaro is going to be my daily driver. I had an 98 Z34 monte that my daughter now drives. I don't want to beef up the camaro to extreme, just thought that 4.8 would run perfect for me on a daily basis. If I want to kick sum major a--, I can always pull out my 63 chevy II with it's small block 406 or my 70 monte with it's 383 stroker breathin thru a BM mini blower, get my drift, lol! I just haven't really messed with the LS1 but really like it. I think the 4.8 with the 5speed off the truck would make it one fun car to drive. no disrespect meant.

Being its a V6 car you need to change almost everything...for what you can pick up a ls1 fbody up for nowadays its not worth it imo...just sell the 6 and save up for the LS1 car.

So you want to swap the truck out and put that into the Camaro?

Guess I'm not understanding, lol.

Ok guys, here's what it is. My older brother gave me the 94 camaro. I have always loved camaro's, especially the 69, thats my favorite car of all time. like the Z28 or the RS and SS with the ZL1 at the very top of the list.(maybe I'll post some pics of my Chevy II which is my future ZLII, lol!) so anyway my brother has gone thru the 94 and is in very good shape, so no I don't want to get rid of it and will not trash the motor or sell car. I am in the process of changing motors on my silverado, going with an LS2 for more power. So I was thinking I would love to install the 4.8 in the camaro, that motor runs real decent for what I want to do with it. It is going to be my daily driver. Hope maybe that explains why I want to do what I want to do.
