Default Oil sending unit

how hard is it to take the oil sending unit off of the block behind the intake
without taking the intake off

i had just recently replaced it and now i have no oil pressure at idle but driving it is fine. my check gauges light is coming on and i want it to stop.

the first time i replaced it i had my intake off and i used a pair of channel locks instead of using the right tool. someone told me that there is a diaphragm inside and if you dont use the right tool i bent it out of shape and screwed it up, does this sound right?

If you get a good pair of channel lock pliers(Knipex are by far the best) and get on the metal part, and dont get to rough while tighteing it, it should be fine.

Yes. Use an oil pressure sensor socket (get it at the auto parts store), appropriate extension(s) and ratchet and aim from the direction of the brake booster toward the sensor, along the firewall.

Long extension and swivel socket as you are gonna need to be near the brake booster to get the right angle. Not hard and did it a few months ago. Takes maybe 10mins at most.
