What's your fall/winter mod plans?

It's that time everyone is starting to store their cars away for the year. There's nothing left to do but buy new parts and repair parts that broke during the year...so let's hear those to do lists?

Here's Mine:
Repairs: Rebuild T56,clutch, brake master cylinder

New parts:
9in Rearend,LT headers,2.5" X-Pipe,LE2 cylinder heads,Ported Intake Manifold,QA1 front shocks,Weld Prostars/Drag radials,SJM ABS Delete/Line Lock kit,Cut the AC box,36# injectors,Wet nitrous kit with all the supporting mods, 3in SS hood....

SPEED#1 Nov 7, 2009 01:54 PM

build 3 cars and get them ready for next year

rat93 Nov 7, 2009 02:04 PM

hotcam/cc503 install, 1.7rr, beehives, hardened rods and ls7 lifters:D

SS RRR Nov 7, 2009 02:16 PM

Take the stage 3+ clutch out, get it rebuilt and get two new front tires. I haven't learnded my lesson yet with this clutch. Going to give it another try with the new gears since I have witnessed this clutch work well in 10 second cars pulling 1.5 60' times.

riceburnerZ28 Nov 7, 2009 02:25 PM

^^^I can't wait to get a new clutch...I"m sick of hitting the gas and think I'm spinning the tires when it's just the clutch slipping!

Done most of my mods that I thought would surely get me into the 11's but I found out making a few pulls on the dyno that I need a full dynotune. So that and some pacesetter longtubes that are curently getting coated and hopefully 11's here I come in the spring.

chevyjeff59401 Nov 7, 2009 02:46 PM

My plans are to get this 97ws6 formula on the road by spring. I'm getting the 383 with ported trickflows put together as quickly as my budget allows. I'm missing tons of external engine parts and wanna do the ls1 lid mod. Unfortunately I am a roofer so as the winter comes my cash flow slows.

am_muscl Nov 7, 2009 02:48 PM

i plan on doing some weight reduction, body work, maybe getting LE1 "budget" heads with ported intake manifold, ls1 lid conversion, fuel line relocation, ABS delete/line lock, maybe AC delete, tunnel mounted torque arm, and I would love to find a good deal on some good springs/shocks combo and most definitely a dynotune

TravisMcGill2000 Nov 7, 2009 04:42 PM

My plans are to buy the new trickflow heads to top my 355. Then get the motor strapped into the ta. Buy a 12 bolt and strange front shocks. Them goin for mid 10s next year.

:stupid:

I did recently add a magnaflow muffler though :) the stocker was still in ok shape (although it was leaking a little at the flange) being 15 years old and having 127k miles on it.

Slap in a new cam, UMI drag sway bar, line locks, lower a-arms, Strange drag brakes, weight loss. That should put me in the 10s NA, then work on a sick N20 kit.

projekt70chevelle Nov 7, 2009 08:25 PM

Poly motor/trans/rear suspension kit, box stock panhard rod, racetronix fuel pump and new o2 extensions, finish wet nitrous install with msd window switch, decide how big of a shot i'm going to run (100 maybe 150), send pcm back for mod updates, reset the rear diff clearances, window motors, make some t-top shades and maybe a little more weight reduction.

Oh and finally get this thing back to the track. Haven't been there since I bought it with nothing but an intake and shift kit back in '07. Since then i've done 3.73's, cc503 and full valvetrain with 1.6's, M6 swap, pacesetter LT's, cut-out, mail order tune, refreshed motor with forged pistons (upped the compression a bit), minor weight reduction, ewp, tons of maintenance and a few other things im sure i forgot.

So hopefully I'll be seeing some big improvements over my lame 13.8 i ran two years ago. Don't have a clue what times to expect either. Oh and I'm in florida, so racing season has just begun for me lol.

Pan gasket, Six Speed Swap, Street Twin, Custom Drive Shaft, Strange 12 Bolt.

Thanks... now I don't feel so alone....
I will prolly buy a adjustable panhard and put on the adj. LCAs I have after the holidays.

EliteCamaro94 Nov 7, 2009 09:24 PM

start saving up for 6 speed swap and also jet hot headers and electric cut out

Ive got a few plans for the formula this winter...LS1 front and rear brakes and a 10Pt bar. Reinstall the carpet, front seats and the interior panels(currently gutted). Pull the lt1 and part it out...then slide a H/C/N LS1 in its place. waiting for the flaming to begin....

Sure... GO AHEAD!!! Bail on us!! :buttkick:

I'd do the same thing if it was cost effective for me.

3rdgen92maro Nov 7, 2009 10:23 PM

For the price I'm getting the motor for i couldn't pass it up. $1500.00 for a complete 12k 04 ls1 oil pan to intake.

Puck Nov 7, 2009 10:52 PM

Send my flow sheets off to llyod to have him grind me a cam, purchase the EFI connection LSX kit, put everything together, install it with a UMI k-member, then plumb a braided fuel system and have it dyno tuned. Looking forward to the faces of the guys at my speedshop when I tell them that my car is now a 93 body with a 95 block and a 98 computer/ignition system .

Then I still can't drag it until I get a new rear end under it, since it probably wouldn't survive the first dead hook.

The "To Do" list is getting MUCH shorter .
