Default I need some serious help

Here's the deal guys...I have 2 things going on here. #1 is a bone stock '96 T/A. I also have a seriously smart assed 22 year old son with a not stock '02 T/A that has gone 11.8. So, the gauntlet has been thrown, and now I absolutely have to kick his ***.

Here's the deal, I have to do this with stock displacement and NO power adders of any kind...N/A only allowed. I'll consider anything else, putting the car on a serious diet, putting my fat 54 year old *** on a serious diet, etc. etc.

What engine combination will get me where I need to be? I'm already planning on some 4.11's, headers....all the usual bolt on stuff....what guts do I need to pull this off? If I can, I'd rather not go to the expense of AFR's or something like that. Will ported stockers do the trick?

My car is an M6, by the way...as is his.

Come on, you old guys....gotta teach these youngsters a thing or three. Old age and treachery will win out over youth and ignorance any day!!!

Oh, and no offense intended, but if you haven't gone this fast please don't reply 'cuz you can't really help. I'd like to hear only from those that have done it.

An AI 200cc heads/cam package (with the proper bolt-ons) will vault you into the 11s easy (with a sticky tire). $2000 and bam...there you go.

Or LE equivalent.

You can whomp him good.....

Ported stockers will work. Check out www.elliotportworks.com

The LE2 package will have plenty of power to kick his ***. Get all the supporting additions for this package, headers, exhaust, throttle body, and so forth. Pull out the seats, spare tire, etc., get some Mickey Thompson ET street tires to get most of it to hook, and you should be set.

I've seen examples of several guys going 11.8 or better with LE2 heads/cam or AI heads/cam and stock weight (lard *** cars)

Imagine what your weight reduction will do with that combo.

I'm sure your 4.11's, full bolt-ons, sticky tires (ET Streets or ET street radials) and a nice heads/cam package with some weight reduction will easily do better than 11.8's. RamAir95TA is a perfect example

Joe is not a good example. For 1 he is a stroker and 2 his car has a hell of a lot more potential than 11.8s!

That being said, the LE2 or AI top end advice is spot on. The 190 package can get him there. The 200 is only 10-15hp over it and the 190 is more on par price wise w the LE2.

Pick your poision
