What spring kit should I get for the CC503 cam? I'm looking at upgrading to the CC503 cam and need a spring kit upgrade as well. Does anyone sell the whole kit together i.e springs, locks, retainers, and bottom shims? What kit have you guys used succesfully with this cam? What company had the best kit for the best price? Thanks guys. |
PAC 1218's or the Patriot Gold Extreme's would be a good choice. Where to get them for the best price I couldn't tell ya. |
We could set you up with either, but for the complete price the Patriots would be my suggestion. I run them on my car with 0 issues. |
Do you have a price? or a catalog I can look at? |
I know you can find the Patriot golds on thunderracing.com |

The Comp Cams 918 Beehives will work great if you want to run a single spring (cheaper option and are what you need), the Patriot Golds if you want double springs and that extra little bit of lift handling (more expensive but will handle much more aggressive lobes if you ever wish to get a bigger cam). |
When I use to have that cam I ran the Crane 10308-1 valve spring kit. It included everything I needed and was ~$185. Those springs are all you will need for that cam. The Comp and PAC beehives are real nice as are the Patriot Golds but they aren't necessary so if you want to keep things on a budget the Crane springs cannot be beat. BTW, I currently run the PAC 1518's with my setup which are the same as the Comp 918/PAC 1218's but nitrided for extra strength. They have been very good to me but IMO the Crane kit will suit you well. |

I will also have the machine shop install them when I get the heads freshened up. Thanks guys keep it coming. |

Where did you get them from? Did you also have 1.6 RR's? The beehives look nice as well. The patriots are a little bigger than I would need probably ever need. I would recommend the Comp Cams NSA Pro-Mags however. It's nice not to have to worry about having SA's and worrying about a rocker slipping off a valve tip at high rpm's. |

I bought them from Summit but they no longer carry them since Crane went out of business. If you do a search on google under the part# a bunch of places come up that sell them. Many of them have the kit on special. Yes I had 1.6RR's. At that time I had the Comp Cams SA Magnums. I would recommend the Comp Cams NSA Pro-Mags however.
