Could it be opti? This is a new wired problem that I just encounterd. These are the symptoms; when I open the throttle slowly it has no power, I mean non, exhaust dosn't even start to sound louder or anything, rpms stay about 1000 even at almost all the way open, but if I tap it or open it quickly rpms shoot up and sounds fine. I think I heard it backfire from the intake and pops a lil bit from the back. Tomorrow I'm getting the codes read and testing the opti 1st. I was just wondering if anyone encountered a similar problem to mine as this is the weirdest my car has every acted on me.
Adding to the symptoms; I just remembered also while driving I would give it gas and felt like the car was holding back so I would give it more gas then then a sudden jerk would throw me against the seat like it just got its power back out of nowhere it kicks on and off. This one sounds like opti but I didn't see the rpms fluttering.

I'm gonna keep this thread updated on my progress incase someone else runs across these symptoms in the future you will have a fix for it. Today I wasn't able to pull the codes but tomorrow I will. I'm also going to swap in my brothers MAP sensor and check to see if thats the cause of it. I have a air to fuel gauge and normaly it reads about 14 and for the past few days sence this problem started its bin reading very rich, I think about 11.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Got the codes read. Said o2's were bad witch would explain why it didn't have any power when opening up the throttle slowly to half way but when I open it quickly it had power. Basicly I disconected them and the car had power again on part throttle. Hope this helps solve other peoples problems.
