Car Won't Start
 

1996 z28 will crank really fast, and crank and crank. It hesitates (stops) for a moment and starts cranking again. Occasionally, I get an intake backfire and a smell which can only be described as "ether-like". I have a new ICM, coil, plugs, wires and it won't start with the new opti or the old one. The car started and ran before I replaced this stuff.

Sounds like the Fuel Pump took a shit..have fun..lol

Mine did the same thing..pulled into a friends drive way..then 2 hours later wouldn't start to leave.

Better Trap-door it.

Thank God, you weren't right, Merv! LOL I took the opti back off, re-installed it. It started! YAAAAAY!

Well there ya go..you got lucky..maybe you left something un-plugged..
