CompCams NEW 918's or PAC 1518's?

CompCams NEW 918's or PAC 1518's? OK, hear me out, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but within all the searching I've done on the net and on the forum, most of the topics are from 2006, or 2007, or 2008. I know around that time the 918's had a bad batch created, which gave them a pretty bad rep. I'm just wondering if anybody else has had an CURRENT experience with the NEW batch of springs that had come out? Are they really better?
I'm just having the delma of which spring to buy for when I put in my new set of RR's. I can find a new set of of the 918s for about $70 or $80 less than the 1518's, but I just don't want to buy something that is going to thrash my motor. Unless the quality control has gotten better, to which the 918's are more reliable.
Also, I'm not doing anything too radical with my car,I just have GTP heads, GM hotcam, 3200-3400 stall and all the other bolt on goodies. So would NEW 918's suffice? Or should I just say the hell with it and get the 1518's for good measure? Thanks guys for your help, I really appreciate it.

Sorry guys I was looking at the 1218's when I priced the 1518 
they are $255 to you door. But you are getting a superior premium valve spring. Plus a set of PAC racing stickers and a CC Performance racing sticker as well. Guaranteed to make you tool box faster!

So, I guess the new question is, how are those now 918's holding up for people? Or are they just junk, and I should save up those PACs? Thanks much!

FYI: Comp 918's = PAC 1218's
The 1518's are nitrided for extra strength and can handle up to a .650" lift. They are way overkill for a hotcam and would be money thrown away when the cheaper PAC 1218's are already more than sufficient.
The PAC springs are made in the USA and never have had any issues unlike the Mexican Comp's that were an issue in the past. Your best bet is to buy the PAC 1218's from the above sponsor in this thread for $155. I run the PAC springs in my car and they are excellent.

Comp has had two separate major episodes of ******* up people's engines with bad springs. And in the most recent episode a couple years ago they were extremely slow to admit the problem was theirs or do anything for their customers.
Anybody who goes with them at this point gets what they deserve...

I ran The 918 springs with my CC305 cam and my current cam the CC306. I have had no problems with them. Quite a bit larger than a hotcam so I say use them.
I will admit that for 255$ for the pac 1518 springs is a good price. If you plan on going big later on. I would get them for peace of mind. No sense spending money twice.

I've been running PACs 1220s in my 355 for a couple years now ... Its been to 7,005 rpm* and hits 6K plus almost every day with NO DRAMA.

Even though they cost more, I think that the additional cost is relatively minor to that of a fully rebuilt motor the 918 breaks. I'm going with the 1518's when I have the cash. Thanks guys for the help.
