Wiring guru's please help! I have been doing some interior wire removal in my 95 lt1 formula. I got ahead of myself and ended up cutting a wire that goes to the only 3 amp fuse in the fuse block. On the cover panel it is #16 and is labeled crank. Does anyone know what this circuit is for? The car has no motor in it right now so I can't check to see if it will start. I believe it ran to the same connector on the right side of the shifter that has the air bag sensor wires all wrapped in yellow tape, and that plug is already eliminated. Can anyone tell me how that is going to affect my car or what I should do? Thanks. -nick |
here is a schematic for the crank fuse http://shbox.com/1/starter_charging_95.jpg |
What color was it..yellow or purple? |

From what I have found that goes to the Theft Deterrent Module..maybe it gives it some sort of power.. I would look into it to be on the safe side. |
the way i understood it people were removing that conector completly as part of the air bag system. i missed that little purple one running back to the fuse box when i was tracing them tho. if anyone has eliminated that plug (and purple wire) please let me know the outcome. thanks alot guys. -Nick |
The purple wire from the crank fuse goes to the air bag DERM (Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module) that is on the HVAC duct on the RH under the dash. |
That is only for the Air Bags? I looked at a few things and it said it was related to the Anti-Theft System.. |
