yank ss4000 so i just installed a ss4000 and the car seems like it dosnt like to move unless you give it alot of gas. it seems like around 2000rpms before it moves is that normal for this converter or not from what ive read everyone likes them alot and i havnt seen any complaints on driveabilty
the car is a gm847 car with 4.10 gears and 26 tall tire so i would think with the setup it would drive pretty good also i just pulled out a vig3200 and the car drove just fine and that has been the only change so far

I have one in my car and it doesn't seem to need a ton of gas to get moving. It could be you are just used to the smaller converter. Give it a couple days and you probably won't think about it anymore.
I have a 10" 4000 Yank converter in my car. It acts just like your describing...im gonna say its pretty normal for that size of converter. You'll get used to it after a week or so.
