How much is the dyno tune? Do you have to bring your own cables/software?

are you driving or trailering the car? If you're driving it, I'd get there quite a bit early to let it fully cool off

Is your horsepower estimate at the wheels? Wouldn't that be a pretty big number given the number of actual performance mods on the car? Aside from your exhaust and intake mods, I really don't see too much that would affect actual horsepower, but I'm not sure what some of those mods are. Would a mail order tune be just as effective for those types of mods? If so, you would save quite a bit of money.

Just get a mailorder tune from ion or somebody, no need to dyno tune a bolton car imo... Invest your savings into a umi tq arm.

Instead of a dyno tune should I just get a street tune then?.. That will cost $250.. And the car made 300 and 330 with bad fuel filter and stock manifolds... That was just an estimate that I gave in the sig.. I thought I would be in the ballpark LOL ... I'd rather save ally if money if it means 3 less hp..BTC what did your car put down.. Basically same mods..?

I've never had my car on a dyno. I also don't have a tune. I thought mail order tunes were around 150 bucks.

Your car made 300 at the wheels with stock manifolds? That sounds pretty high considering the rated flywheel horsepower from the factory was only 275. Maybe it's a factory freak.

What is the Pro 5.0? Is that a supercharger, or a shifter?

lol... its a shifter... the dyno we were at was not throwing huge numbers for everyone.. everyone seemed to be ok with all the numbers they were getting... then i got mine strapped down and the person running the dyno was really surprised what i put down... the car actually put down 296 or something like that... but i figured since the last digit was past 5 you can round up lol.. ive got the dyno sheets with a/f.. the person running wanted to tune my car really bad and see what they would get out of it... and i have nothing wrong with mailorder tunes... but would getting a street tune yield a little better power for some more$$?.. i think i will cancel the dyno tune... but should i keep the street tune or just go with the mailorder?.. I want to get the best out of it without breaking the bank... i hate being a college student... thanks guys.. ur all awesome...

I guess I don't know what a street tune is. The only tunes I've ever heard of are mail order and dyno.

Street tuning is when the tuner uses a closed road or private drive instead of the dyno to complete the third gear run. This makes for a more realistic tune that dynometers cannot compete with but increased dangers exist. Real world variables, such as temperature, wind and road surface resistance, vehicle load, and the weight of the vehicle all are exact rather than emulated. This difference is minimal; however, a true enthusiast can appreciate 100% realism in a tune. Some ECU’s allow the street tuner to measure horse power and torque even on the street. The best tune is a combination of dyno and street tuning. Start with a street tune, and refine the tune on the dyno. It is hard to find shops that will do a street tune due to liability and safety issues.

I plan on getting a mail order tune at some point. I would be curious to know what kind of numbers your car is putting down with headers. 300 sounds incredibly high for just a cold air intake and a catback. I doubt the 52 mm throttle body would make any difference. There are probably some cammed cars that don't put down your 330 estimate.
