Default whats better T-56 with 373's or 410's?

does it really matter in a 1/4 if you have 373's or 410's? i mean how much of a time difference are we talking about?? if its a big difference ill go 410 but for only a tenth ill just get 373's and some better hwy mpg.

What is your setup...?

With a healthy cam it could make a few 10's difference. With a reasonable cam or bolt on car it will barely make a difference, if any.

3.90's is my personal choice.

3.73's would be fine, and stronger than 4.10.

4.10's WILL break with sticky tires.

Where in CO are you?

I'm in cheyenne. I go down to fo co, denver a lot though.

I love my 3.90's, I honestly wouldn't bother switching from 3.42 to 3.73. You could probably be faster putting the money else where.

3.90 is worth making the switch for though.

My car has broken 3 sets of 4.10 and these 3.90's are holding way more power than they ever did. They'll probably break someday too though unless I get the 8.8 done soon.

Trent at Colorado Performance Unlimited got me a crazy good deal on mine through Motive.

A buddy of mine might have a set for sale with full install kit, new bearings, etc. He bought 3.90's like me but then he decided to go to an 8.8 without installing them.

PM z28camaro30ann on here and ask him.

I got 3.73s because I drive my car a lot on the street and take road trips. 4.10s are too steep for street tires if u ask me

I went with 3.73 so I had longer gears, good highway mileage, and would have some room to grow in the 1/4 if I decided to spray it

I really don't think 4:10's effect highway mpg much at all. At 70 mph w/3:42's it was at 1500 rpm in 6th, with 4:10s it's at 2000rpm. I honestly never paid a lot of attention to my mpg when it was my dd but I can't imagine there is a huge difference between the 2 ratios when in 6th. 4:10's made a HUGE difference in how hard it pulls of the line, no other mod Ive done had a bigger sotp difference than 4:10's did. 4:10's make 6th more usefull on the hwy IMO, the motor won't bog at times like it would with 3:42's.

So do you have to get a tune after getting 4.10's having an m6?

I think it would depend on what speed your mainly @ when on the highway. if you don't go faster than 60 then I don't see it hurting mileage considering I get my best mpg's sitting at 2000rpms(32mpg b4 the cam) which happens to be 80mph. but if I put in 4.10's(and didn't have the cam still) I doubt I would get over 30mpg @ 80mph.

see sig.... I don't think 4.10s are too steep, I thought they felt sluggish. I think just doing 3.73s is a waste of time. You've got a .50 6th gear, use it.

Yep! We still make "the loop" up college and turning around by the tracks then going back down south.

When that gets old we usually park somewhere and try to get some people to go out of town and race..

Cops have gotten really bad about busting everyone and running people off who set in parking lots in big groups.

Both of you have quite radically different setups than a bolt on car.

Depending on the cam / head specs, yes 4.10's and lower is what the car wants.

A bolt on car simply doesn't need it and a cam with lots of tq in the low rpms just makes first gear useless on the street with 4.10's.

I was running my 4.10's on bolt on only settup.

If first is too short for the street, then start in second.
