its not a 4340 crank thats why it dont cost as much as a 4340 eagle or scat,,plus they dont even tell you who the maker is of the crank,

crank material gos
cast
5140
4340
billet.

They dont tell you who the maker is bc its a no name production company likely in China and its irrelevant. However, if its CNC'd it could be machined very good, all dependent on the program.

Spend the money now on a good crank or spend double later

Not to mention that is a 2 piece rear main seal crank. And the lt1 is a 1 piece rear main seal.

billet is a term not a type of material...
from what ive been told scat/cat/eagle stuff comes from china and is machined in the U.S.

Not exactly. A billet is a single piece of bar stock, from which the crank is cut. Some believe the alignment of the molecules in this type of material makes it stronger.
I spoke to a wholesaler of Callies cranks, he told me they were forged and cut in China, but finished in America. Unable to verify this info.

I have no verification either, but I was under the impression that the Chinese pieces were for their compstar line. I was told the "Callies" line was all forged and machined in the USA. Who knows anymore......
