What's an LT1 worth? What's up guys? My dad has a '97 LT1 with only 19,000 miles on it, but it has spun 2 rod bearings. What would be a reasonable price on that? |
youd probably be better off tearing it apart and selling the parts... |
How does a car with 19,000 miles spin two rod bearings? |

Actually, my brother worked at a GM dealership back in the late 90's and a dude bought the car new and spun the bearings. It was under factory warranty, so the service department replaced it and sold this one to my dad. |
fix the car before you sell it. You will get quite a bit more even after you re coup what you spend on the rebuild. LT1's arent worth shit. |
lol back b4 the internet I blew 2 motors in 27k:emb: being young and dumb with Nitrous can do bad things to a motor. OP part the motor youll get more money. |
The motor is actually rapped in plastic on a crate like it has been for 13 years. |
It will be hard to sell complete since nobody can tell how bad the motor is. |
Double the scrap iron value of the motor. :jest: Spinoff: anyone want an iron headed lt1 with 233k? It actually runs though ;) no spun bearings. |
I might do like Brucer said and part it out. |
so is it a whole car or motor only? |
Whats a rusty boat anchor worth? There is your market competition. |
Just the motor. |
