Default Still a little un easy when i come to a redlight.

I had this intermittent problem where my car would shut off and not want to start for awhile. I replaced the fuel pump, filter, regulator, ICM, coil, and most recently the accel opti that was on it. (Yes I know they dont have a good rap) On my way to the opti. I found the opti connector, and it was pretty mangled (pics below). So far since the swap, it has not stalled. But im un easy of where i drive it, all I want to know is if the connector being mangled could cause this problem. I just want to be able to drive my car again and know that ill get somewhere without it dying. Because when it died in traffic on me, it wasnt a good feeling. I ordered the new opti harness and re-installed everything.

Yes - that level of corrosion / damage could indeed cause the very condition you described.

Ok, but how come it would only die when heated up? The first time it happened i was driving it for about an hour or so, died while going about 20 on a back road, waited 20 mins and fired right back up and ran it home. Second time (after fuel pump replacement) when i thought all was well, it was after i was on the road for about an hour and a half or so, then i was at a stop sign waiting for the go for about a min and it died...waited, started up, drove it home. Third time I was in traffic and this was after driving it for about 20 mins, died, waited, and drove it home. And the temperature when all of these happened was 75ish and above. So what im wondering is if it expands when it heats up maybe?

That much corrosion will create a connection that heats with time.

Ok. And also, when these problems were happening, i still drove it a good bit, and it didnt always die, just those 3 times. Wouldnt corrosion like that always want to kill it?

I feel your pain. I'm always a little leery when I've had to fix something on my car. More so, when I'm not positive that what I did was the correct solution to the problem.

Ok try dying in the middle of rush hour traffic with no where to even push the car off of the road and having to deal with the sound of blaring horns for 20 minutes until it starts again. I don't wanna deal with it again. Btw I have been driving my car. 400 miles to be exact since the opti swap, I'm just triple checking to see what peoples opinions were on the opti connector.
