Default regretting this project...

this might not be te right section for this but I started my cam swap over a year ago and it still isnt done..i work on it little by little and it jsut doesnt feel like im getting anywhere, I decided to go with a cc306 with ported heads and its just a nightmare at this point. I decided to leave the engine in the car and so far ive gotten both heads off, intake and everything else all thats left is pulling the waterpump and swaping the cams.. but im just so frustrated i feel like theres just wires hanging everywhere and its never going to get done.. anybody else been in this boat were your just ready to give up? any advice?at this point between the car payment being $200 and the garage payment that im renting being $200 and $100 insurance payment a month i just want to get rid of it and get a terminator cobra or something thats nice newer less miles and already finished.. i just need some kind of motivation at this point im ready to give up

1 year for a cam swap? Shouldn't take more than a couple days max assuming you aren't doing it an hour a day.

You should reserve one or two weekends for it, call over some friends early in the morning, and then work till the sun sets.

yep i'll have to agree..
you have to buckle down and get it done, quit ******* around and do it.. plan a weekend and do it, quit being lazy..

if its a gf or wife keeping you from doing it, man up and get yourself some me time.. call a friend to come hangout and help, buy the food and drinks for the day and get after it..

I have done this. You need to just grab a couple of guys and get moving on it. I had mine done in less than a week after it sitting for 2 years.

I've had the same problems before. Where are you from? I'm not the master mechanic but I'm sure me n a buddy could definitely knock that out in a weekend, my buddy Joe did mine and it took a while for parts but it got done. You have to just realize that when it's done, it will all be worth it. I've fought my car since the day I got, from a cai to doing breaks. IT'S NEVER EASY!

I work faster alone with some beers for help. If you put your mind to it and have all the parts this job should take 2days or less.

He could probably get it done too, but it sounds like he isn't spending hours on it at a time and just working on it here and there when he gets a chance.

im located in nassau country on long island, i usually spend about an hr or so working on it when i have the time which is why this is taking me so long, i wish i had dedicated a weekend to it wit a couple of buddies last fall .. te reason its taking so long is because i dont ave alot of time to work on it and its in an unheated garage so when i sarted ripping it apart last year it got too cold before i finished and i want to get it done before tat happens again this year

Just convince a friend to let you drive there f-body for a little while. That will get you motivated again. My car has been parked for 4+ years and far worse then yours... I started working on it early this year and have made some progress... All this after driving my brothers stalled, h/c ls1 for a weekend... Man it made me realize how bad I missed the car scene.
