oil pressure gauge doesnt fit after headers

so my oil pressure gauge doesnt fit after i put my lt's on, they get in the way of that big rubber piece? what do i do?

What big rubber piece?

If it can't be fixed, you can relocate it to the back of the intake manifold like the late 94+ cars.

That big rubber piece is a heat shield for the sensor, you can slide it off and up the wires to get it out of the way, then slide it back on.

I put a brass tube, with a 90* elbow on it, then put the sensor back on. Cost like $3 at Menards, and now the sensor points wires to the front of the car with no issues...

I took that piece off.

took what piece off? the heat shield?

TheTransporter69 10-25-2010 11:13 PM

i relocated mine behind the intake manifold.

is there a write up for relocating it, becuase that would probably be the best choice

Yeah the foam/rubber thing on the sending unit. Well the car has 200k miles so it basically fell off haha.

Had to replace the sender once only because I broke it installing my headers and wondered why my gauge was spiked lmao
