I'd get something with 60/40 spacing if you're looking at buying a CNC'd aftermarket casting.

making power...... LOL i guess what im trying to find out is how good the motor i have is going to be 13:1 383 with AFR 210's solid roller i don't have the cam card in front of me but IIRC 26X 27X @50 .650ish lift if it had these 21* heads would it make more or less power? i think im going to be fine with the power this combo will make but just woundering

The 210s will make more power with out a doubt. The trickflows wont support a decently setup 383. They are only 185cc heads. If u wanted to mayb pick up a set of ai 21* heads then they would work good.

You will be surprised how potent the combo you described will be, coming from only a puny 383 smallblock...especially if those AFRs have been touched up any .

PS: I'd still rather have a BBC .

210s will make good power, but I'd rather have a 220+cc head on 383 cubes. I'm debating Speier's 227cc profilers, still takes standard rocker. Or I'll just further port the heads I have unless I can get good money for them.

What CC's did your 210s end up at?

If budget wasn't an issue I would have some cleaned up converted AFR 235s...a lot of head for an NA 383, but not if you spin to 8500 with a crank trigger/FAST .

Nice to dream, eh?

I am also running the 21* Trick Flows on my '96 Vette. The best e.t. to date is 12.09@113.03 with a 1.65 60'. It is a stock short-block with Comp 503 cam. It also has full bolt-ons a LE ported intake, 58 mm TB and 30# SVO injectors.

they're small, only about 218cc. They're the older 210s that started about 198-200cc, I'm thinking of taking them out to a 1207 gasket, offset rocker/lifter, and doing 230+cc but I'll see how much it will be to take them that big. The stealth ram I've got is at a ~1206 right now, maybe a little bigger.

Travis, The DA was 822'. It's never been on a dyno, so I have no idea how much power it's making. It'a an A4 with a Yank PT4000 converter. I'm very impressed by the numbers that you have ran!!!

You' be better off starting with a clean sheet of paper, ie: a new Eliminator casting that has the narrower valves. Sell the heads you have for $1200-$1400 and then it's not much more for some 227's or 235's ready to rock. Your heads are proven and will sell quick. I got my 227's for a song from big west-coast dealer. Basically you can just ignore the pricing that you see online, because AFR has strict pricing policies as far as advertised prices go. It never hurts to ask around. Try Clayton Racing on here and see what they can do.

Thanks Travis! I've thought about a dyno tune and you're absolutely correct that the car would most likely benefit from one. I've been putting it off, because I've thought about changing the cam and I hate to spend $500 on a tune to turn around and change something and need to take it back and spend another $500. I have never had the car weighed, so I have no idea how much it weighs.

I didn't know you were using a stealth ram. It fits under the stock hood in your sig pic? Any engine compartment pics? PM if you want to keep this out of this thread...or if you can link me to above info in another thread. Thanks. Also thanks for the work you are doing on the opti problem.

nope not yet

i've got a 2" cowl on the car now, but my lt4 intake isn't off the car yet. I'll probably drop the motor 1/2" or so with the motorplates for clearance since it has a direct port plate sandwiched beneath the plenum. I had surgery last week so it'll be a little while before I'm up to fitting the stealth ram in there

This times 100! Thats why I was selling my ported stock castings to get a set of AFR227's and let Lloyd port those! You can find them for $2,000 brand new, check egay. LOL But then I was lucky enough to get a 500+ci BBC with a blower for free. Thanks Dad
