Fastest DD LT1's on ls1tech

Please make a sticky for us LT1 owners it could help the majority of us who don't want a drag only car.

People with power who still DD their car and make it to the track.

robsquikz28 Nov 8, 2010 03:46 PM

lol probably wont happen, but I have a 14sec DD :secret2:

cgroh89 Nov 8, 2010 03:52 PM

My dd does 10.47

In the 1/8

alexcoreas Nov 8, 2010 03:52 PM

Lol its worth a try. I don't really want to build an all out drag car. I want to have a 10 sec 1/4 mile car and still be daily driven

SexyTransAm Nov 8, 2010 04:03 PM

my DD LT1 went 7.99@ 85.7 in the 1/8 the other night. i drive it every where unless its under the knife. best MPH is 88.6 when it was stock on spray

speed_demon24 Nov 8, 2010 04:05 PM

Doubt I'm anywhere near the fastest but my car is my daily.

alexcoreas Nov 8, 2010 04:42 PM

I'm not looking for the fastest any times are welcome.

Well I DD my car but it only gets like 8-10mpg in the city.

RamAir95TA Nov 9, 2010 05:49 AM

I drive mine all the time. I don't see a point to the thread though...

x2

I could daily mine if I really want to, but i'd rather take a different vehicle that gets better mileage, doesn't eat up tires, and gets more radio stations. I'd say that 95%+ of the cars listed on the "fastest" lists have plates and registrations/inspections on them and can be driven on the street.

no shit lol. most states require it regardless.

whytryz28 Nov 9, 2010 07:58 AM

Should be who drives theres on 2k+ mile roadtrips. Anyone can dd a 10 second car 10-15 miles a day. Show me that same car doing long trips for a year straight and im convinced.

For you guys that don't seem to understand.

This thread is actually a very simple concept.

Being able to drive it when you want and having it registered in no way equates to a daily driver.

Daily driver = driven regularly: to work, school, shopping, errands, etc.. Main form of transportation.

the_merv Nov 9, 2010 11:30 AM

I have a DD and the hot rod on the side.. The most dependabe DD is a stock one.

Anyone who can afford to build a reliable and fast street car, probably has the money to not drive it everyday.

Okayyyy, myself included, but that has nothing to do with the OP looking for DD specific cars and what they are running?

Yup, yup. I won't do anything but appearance and creature comfort upgrades to my DD.

It entirely depends on the combination and how well attention to detail was given. There are several mild heads/cam packages where springs/valvetrain components will last as long as a stock short block and make good power over stock in the process. It's when people start mucking around being careless and not giving a lot of thought to their combination which causes a short term life span.
