car is smokeing. rings or seals?
my 95 lt1 is smoking but not all the time. it starts to smoke around 3 grand. it doesnt smoke when i start it thoe. the motor has a stock bottom end with 170k on it. iv sprayed a 100 wet shot twice. it also is spitting oil out the tail pipes. i did a compression test and all the cylinders were around 175 to 180 so if it is the rings i dont think they are all the way burnt out. anyone know if its the rings or seals or something else?

Could be bad valve seals. I would check those out before you jump the gun and think you're motor is bad. When I installed the VS2700 springs and didn't take out the inner dampeners, they took out my seals, and my car was smoking really, really bad!
