New 95 LT1 z28, need some help
Im about to buy a 95 LT1 from my brother in law for 1000, Deal or No deal?
I dont know anything about Camaros, he says that the idling is bouncing,he said he went and talked to a mechanic about it and said that they said it could be an internal computer problem, and could be costly.
Ive done some research before bringing up an open question that there are already numerous threads about. Based on the search, if i plan to get the car, should i start by checking out the TBS and the IAC? I think those are the abbreviations ive been seeing. Ive also got advice on buy a new optispark. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

99.9% of the time, the PCM is not at fault. I've never seen a bad PCM other than programming error. Bouncing idle could be IAC (idle air controller) / TPS (throttle position sensor) related, or something as simple as a vacuum leak from a torn/loose intake elbow. The BEST thing to do would be to get free scanning software and a low-cost interface cable and do some scanning to see what's going on.
And if that's the ONLY problem with the car (assuming you're talking about a car, you only say "95 LT1"), $1000 is a STEAL.

Datamaster is the most popular free scanning software. It's available at www.ttspowersystems.com, and is very user-friendly. Andy Whittaker also makes Freescan, another alternative.

What's the body and interior like? Are you mechanically inclined and LIKE to work on cars? That's what would make the decision for me.
Good body and interior/bad engine = still buy
Bad Body/Good engine = buy and part out
Bad Body/Bad Engine = walk away
