my new mystery heads
i just bought these heads. but at the price i picked them up for i couldnt pass them up.they have comp beehive springs on them. some mild porting all around. looks like they will be pretty comparable to le 1 or 2 heads. im gonna get them flowed and cc'd becuase i dont have any specs on them. here are some pics. let me know what you think!

Those look like stock heads with some polishing and definately not close too LE1's much less LE2's LOL. I wouldn't have given more then $150 for those with new springs. JMO. If you want a set of LE3 heads for $900 that could make your car run low 11's on motor, quicker then you run on n2o now. LMK Later Clint

i never said they were le heads. im gonna get them flowed, im hoping for the 240 to 250 range. the springs themselves are new and have a good valve job on the heads the springs and retainers are close to 300 new. considering after i sold my heads i only have 250 in them, i think i came away with a good deal.
Drivers side head has a 5 stamped on it.
Besides ill prolly end up having some more work done to them. i think they are an excellent starting point. My goals arent to run low 11's on motor. my goals are 11.5-11.8 with a cc306 or 847. and im gonna spray on top of that.

oh
well as i said before, they are a start. i plan on having some finishing work done to them. the two main reasons why i got them was because the springs are good to .6 lift and they are the better castings, 374. like i said after i sold my heads i have 250 in these, and the springs and retainers are worth more than that.

well i just done a diy cc of the intake ports and i got between 170 and 180 both times. so it looks like there wasnt much taken out of these heads. but i guess im still a dumbass for buying these heads. so im gonna take the springs off and scrap them.

flow them, cc them, check for straightness
then decide
I've been told home ported heads not looking just like the other guys would be junk.
then the flow numbers showed they just needed a little short turn radius work
deal with facts before you scrap them since you have $250 into the springs/retainers already..

They do look rough but get them flowed. I got mine for $500 after selling my trashed stock heads for $100. Came with Patriot Gold Extremes, 2.02/1.60 valves and were milled .005. They were going on a 385 on nitrous so the intake numbers arent stellar, exhaust numbers are good. Better than stock.

I made the same mistake I luckily got a cam and a block with them so it didn't really put a damper on my deal and in the long run I turned them into a set of AFR's with a little extra cash. Good luck hope it pans out!

They don't look ported at all. I've never seen a set of ported heads (even mild ones) where the porter didn't smooth out the valve guide area to enhance flow. Look at the intake ports. The valve guides are big, just like stock castings. Exhaust looks stock too.
What I do see is that someone took some time to polish the OUTSIDE of the heads, lol. They look all shiny! Very pretty but it does nothing for power output.
