Think i found a good fbody, what do you think?
So yeah im getting closer to getting rid of my old car (87 monte carlo ss) and into the much advanced lt1 f body. Looking through Cl i found alot of heavily modified ones, and a few bone stock automatics. But my dad reminds me that my uncle has a 94 t/a. The good news, he's owned it since new and drove it nice, always kept up on maitenence, and its a M6, i cant find a m6 for the life of me that isnt modded. But the bad news, 150k miles and the clearcoat is flaking off the drivers side fender. He said i get the nephew price of 2 grand. Its pretty loaded, said it had the optional wheels on it, but i distinctly remember it having the ugly swirl-type wheels rather than the 5 spoke type. One of the flip up headlight motors makes an ugly noise, but still works. And its black on black with i believe leather interior. Also the a/c doesnt blow cold anymore (recharge?)
But the point is, should i jump on it, or is 150k miles (maintained or not) too much for a DD? I would have ample money laying around for new tires, tuneup etc. and even a new paintjob or engine if need be and my dad is a GM mastertech with 30 years experience. So i see no reason in getting this killer deal. What do you guys think?

yeah its hard to turn it down when you know the complete history of the car. And with 2 grand being a small fraction of what i was planning to spend, i can afford to make repairs. I hold onto my cars for along time, i had my monte from when i was 16 till i was 19, thats along time for a kid. And i dont plan on letting this one go either.

You said u have like 6-8 to spend right you buy it for 2 that leaves plenty of room to start some engine work , new tires, that would leave these guys here to hlp u build a nice car with 4-6k left over or at least get it started, just ask him when the opti was done last

That headlight noise is would be a couple teeth on the plastic gear would be broken. You can just rotate the gear for a decent temporary fix.
Since there is no worry of rust the clear coat can be a cheap fix, or easy if you have the equipment and know what you are doing. It is very easy to mess up.
Definitely grab that for the price.

Definitely pick it up if it's mechanically sound. A bone stock M6 is definitely rare these days, let alone finding one with a good background.
I paid $3,250 for my bone stock M6 Z28 Camaro that had 158K miles at the time from a 62 year old original owner. The AC and heat don't work on it, but the rest of it was in good shape. I DD mine and it runs surprisingly well. Feels like there's not even 100K miles on it.
A well taken care of, stock LT1 car can last a LONG time with general upkeep, and a little bit of luck on the opti stigma these cars have.
I personally have grown fond of the swirlies and salad shooter rims on the LT1's, LOL.

The cars that were driven regularly and maintained seem to be the most reliable, I know some B-body guys who put 200K+ miles on there Impalas, and they didn't start having issues with them till they retired them to weekend cars. LT1s if kept up were really reliable cars, but still it's a 17 year old car.

thanks for the input, yeah im probably just gonna leave the flip-ups up for now so i dont cause any damage. And he's already had the opti replaced i believe. Just needs a good waxing to keep the flaking clearcoat down i think. But yeah i should be picking this up as soon as i can list my car. Im going on vacation, then my uncle is. So if i cant pick this up between the 2 vacations its looking like the first week in august. Definitly going to have atleast 3 or 4 grand leftover for stuff but my dad HATES working on these cars, he actually worked on my uncles and hated every minute of it. So yeah just some maitence and little things for now. Im fine with leaving it basically stock for a while.
For mods im thinking- Lingenfelter CAI, Eibach sportlines, and some nice 17x8 GTO wheels and go from there.

Definitley pick that up. And check out njfboa.org. That's the local NJ fbody forum.
Also if your looking for springs, I have some eibach pros collecting dust in my room.
