12's... Is it possible?

I ran my car last summer with the following mods.

CAI
Crank U/D Pulley
Pacesetter lt's
Or/y
Mangaflow cat back
E-cutout (same times open/closed)
Mad Z28 tune
4.10 Gears
Sumitomo street tires got me a best of 13.4 at 103mph with a 2.02 sixty if I remember correctly.

Now I will have the same mods except I'll also have...

1.6 roller rockers
LCA's
Relocation Brackets
Drag radials

I would also like to get an estimate with a Yank PY3400 stall. Im hoping to put down around 310rwhp but can I make 12's?

you can hope and pray and do religous things, make posts, whatever you want to do.

Just remember, not every track is at sea level, DA isnt always good, And track prep isnt always awesome (ive seen vids of peoples shoes tacking while they walk on the track...makes me goddamn sick)

Your looking at the edge to me, could go high high 12's, could go low low 13's. You definetly have a better chance with a stall converter.

Nittos are unpredictable as well, hope you got ET streets.

What car?

SpeedFreak123 Nov 13, 2011 08:36 PM

Firebird formula, ttop. I'm gettin hoosier drag radials

Camaroking1996 Nov 13, 2011 09:16 PM

If u can hook you have a good chance

SpeedFreak123 Nov 13, 2011 09:29 PM

So what im lookin at is if I get in to 12's I'll barley be in there with probably a 12.8-12.9?

cprmn14 Nov 13, 2011 09:36 PM

The relocation brakets and LCAs, with sticky tires and a good launch should get you there I think

If it will hook up just changing the tires is probably worth .2 sec. There is only one way to find out. Take it to the strip.

If you dont hit 12's with that, sell the car.

x2. 12's should be a piece of cake for what you have.
Why the ProYank instead of something like a SS3600? ProYank would typically be for a higher powered steep geared drag car, whereas this sounds like a street car.

SpeedFreak123 Nov 14, 2011 06:14 PM

I can get the py3400 from somebody up the road for 300!!

LSWHO Nov 16, 2011 03:24 PM

Get a custom tune. I had 8 degrees of knock with a mail tune. Eight. Eight, Bob.

No one around here tunes LT1's or I would! May invest in a LT4 KM to be safe.

turtle93 Nov 16, 2011 09:06 PM

Mine is tune by pcmforless they did great went from 13.4 @106 to a best so far of 13.0 @ 108 na and get better mpg now also you should get 12's I think

SpeedFreak123 Nov 16, 2011 09:40 PM

Can't see your sig... What are your mods? We're you on drag radials or street tires?

pancho toco loco Nov 16, 2011 10:02 PM

Id say yes. Know your 60ft down to 1.8's and the added 10hp from the 16.'s will put you in the 12.8-12.9 range. This time of year with cool weather will help. Stall will help greatly. Id go higher then 3400 but for $300, thats a good deal. Im ready thinking of restalling to 3800-4000 and i just put in the 3600 lol

SpeedFreak123 Nov 16, 2011 11:50 PM

Yeah tracks closed now so by next year when it re opens I should be full suspension and stalled, or maybe even have an ls car lol... For now I just wanna be able to run mustangs, and ls1's and boosted jap cars on the street for fun

ten5nova Nov 17, 2011 05:18 PM

Why not a small nitrous shot on the street?

SpeedFreak123 Nov 17, 2011 11:24 PM

If the motor has good oil pressure and compression there's no reason you can't spray through it all day long.
